Do you provide after school care/babysitting?

We do our best to provide babysitters for after school care, however most of our babysitters are either working or studying during the day, meaning general availability begins at 3:30pm weekdays. In the school holidays, we would be more likely able to provide you with a babysitter during the weekdays. 

Are your babysitters police vetted?

All of our babysitters are police vetted and and have been reference checked; Buttercup Babysitting endeavours to have high quality babysitters in the team.  

Are we able to meet the babysitter prior to booking?

We understand how important it is for the family to know the babysitter who will be caring for their child/ren while the caregiver(s) are away.

To support this, some families have made a shorter booking the day before, for 2 hours or so, where they can meet the babysitter and be present as the babysitter gets to know the child/ren. They then head off for about half an hour before coming back. A great way to ease into it!

What areas/cities do you  provide babysitting to?

We are mainly located in Hastings, Havelock North, and Napier central. However, we have provided babysitters to families in Poukawa, Whakatu, and Crownthorpe. 

We do not yet provide babystting to the Central Hawkes Bay area. 

How do I pay the babysitter?

At the end of the booking, you pay the babysitter the amount owed in cash, according to the hourly rate noted in our prices. It is up to both parties discretions as to whether internet banking may be more appropriate. You can find our pricing list here.

Should we provide the babysitter with meals or snacks?

Providing snacks is entirely up to you. However, we would suggest that if the babysitter arrives 3 hours before a meal time and stays 3 hours afterwards, that a meal or snack of some sort be provided for them during this time out of courtesy.

What other services do you provide?
